Some SMART Reading, umm feeding

Honey seems to have a “thing” for my Readers Digest.  You know for a young pup, she is doing really good, she hasn’t tried to chew on remotes, shoes, cords, anything else inappropriate…. except for the readers digest.

The first time it was after escaping her kennel while I was gone to work for 5 hours, and all she got into was one Readers Digest, not bad.  Now yesterday, I let her have free reign as I showered – I come downstairs and my new Readers Digest had been gnawed on – they must use flavored ink 🙂20161019_222347 20161027_223922

Vet Visit

Well I saw Dr Melissa today & she says I am only 6 months old & I have lost a couple of pounds in the last week.  The pain has been really bad so it makes it hard to eat so I cry a lot & sometimes try to nip at my furry foster sister Bella.  Dr Melissa says that I have no circulation in my paw so they have scheduled the surgery & tell me I will feel better afterwards.

Here is me outside today with my neighbors grandkids getting a puppy massage – it was SO relaxing, I really LOVE kids

Howdy Everyone!

My name is Sweetie, or Honey, actually I don’t really know what it is.  So that is in discussion right now 🙂

I was found on the side of the road in northern MN when a nice lady picked me up and saved me & called a rescue group by the name of MN Paws, and that is how I ended up at my Foster Moms house.  More about the fantastic rescue MN Paws, the vet that runs it later 🙂

They are pretty sure my radial nerve is badly damaged, and my front leg will need to be amputated.  Since my Foster Mom had been a part of this group before, she right away said let me help this peanut, and she drove 40 miles to come get me AND she set this page up for me.

Now I have one foster sister, Bella, who has lots of energy, but doesn’t really play with me, but lets me play a lot with her Mommy.

Right now I am working hard on getting settled in, but I am so uncomfy it is hard, I cry a lot, which makes my Mommy sad.  The vet is trying to give me pills so I don’t hurt so much until they know what to do next.  <insert LOTS of prayers here>.

I should also say no one knows actually what breed I am, so my Mommy says we are going to do a DNA test, but the guesses are MAYBE german shepard + hound + beagle + ???, but I only weigh 30lbs and am about 9 months old.

Thanks for reading and any tips and advice for front leg amputees would be helpful – meds, harnesses, recovery, etc –

As my last foster tripawd was a back leg, but his was an old one and he could get around, this is new, painful, and she is still learning.
